Kogelberg Farm Hostel

Situated on a wine farm, Casey’s Ridge bordering the Kogelberg Nature Reserve, only 60km from Cape Town 7.5 km from the N2 highway near Grabouw. Take the N2, bypass Strand/Somerset West. Go over Sir Lowry’s Pass, continue past first and second Grabouw turn off pass Peregrine Farm Stall, turn right on the Viljoenshoop Rd for about 2 km, right onto the Appletizer road. Pass Appletizer for 3 km then turn right on a gravel road just before the entrance of Elgin Hills Farm. Straight with gravel road for 1.5km, Kogelberg Farm Hostel is situated on the right hand side.

Extremely quiet, peaceful setting with views of mountains and surrounded by lots of trees and vineyards only 8 Km from nearest town.

The Hostel consists of:

2 x Separate buildings

Each: Dining/Conference hall, bathrooms, kitchen and bedrooms.

Can be booked separate: 56 people (minimum of 30),

or both 112 people (minimum of 80).

Total of:

8 x Dormitories: 14 beds with fitted sheets only in each room. (Total beds are 112).

4 x Bathrooms: 22 Showers (hot and cold water), 17 Basins, 15 Toilets, 3 Urinals and corner with plugs for hairdryers.

2 x Kitchens: Each with gas burners, flat top gridler, fridge, freezer, basin, crockery, cutlery, urns, utensils, pots, pans, braaigrids ext. (fully equipped kitchen for self catering) – NO OVEN

2 x Dining/Conference halls: Tables and chairs for 112 people. Braai area, TV, DVD, Amp, Speakers, projector screen, flip chart and power points in each corner.

High Obstacle Course

The services of trained facilitators can be organized for visiting groups. External facilitators set their own fees and you pay them directly.

Please note: Only bookings of 2 nights allowed during weekends. During midweek’s one night bookings are allowed. Contact us for any specials when make bookings during midweek’s. Minimum of 30 people is applicable on all groups camping for two or more days. Minimum of 80 people is applicable on all groups when booking both buildings. During midweek’s less people per group are allowed to make bookings.

RATES 2012

Adults: R95 pp per night

Scholars: R65 pp per night

Day visitors: R50 pp per day

Catering: R160 pp per day

Kitchen, Lounge/Dining: R290-00 per day per group.

A deposit of R2000 must be paid within 10 days after booking. The deposit will be returned after the camp; it can not be deducted from the camp fees. The deposit will be forfeited if the booking is cancelled in less than sixty days prior to the dates booked (50% of dep.) and less than one month 100% of dep. The deposit will be forfeited if booked for both buildings and are less than 80 people. An administration fee of 10% will be taken in all other cases of cancellation and/or swapping of dates.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

Full payment to be made before arrival only.

Direct deposits can be done.

Cheques must be bank guaranteed or paid in 10 days before camp. No post-dated cheques will be accepted.
